Macintyre Alternative Training and Education (MATE)


GTT delivers the MATE program each semester on behalf of Goondiwindi State High School. MATE provides training (both accredited and non accredited) to assist at risk students make a successful transition to either learning or earning.

The objectives of the MATE program are to:

  • Create flexible and alternative pathways for young people allowing them to maintain their connectedness to formal education while gaining life and employability skills
  • Increase the number of at risk students successfully engaging in meaningful learning options
  • Offer access to training opportunities for young people already disengaged or excluded from the education system
