Queensland Boat Licence & Jetski Course
This one-day course consists in part of a land based theory program. There are six units to this competency-based training and listed below are some of the topics that will be covered:
Fire Fighting and Prevention
The on-water program includes:
Leave and return to launching facility or berth
Bring a recreational vessel alongside a floating object
Maneuver a recreational vessel in adverse conditions
Moor and anchor a recreational vessel
Maneuver a recreational vessel
When you complete the course you will receive a Recognition of Competency Certificate and a Statement of Competency. This Statement of Competency, a licence application form and the appropriate fee are submitted to a Queensland Transport Service Centre.
Subject to sufficient water heights
COST: $240 per participant for boat licence
$340 per participant for boat and jetski licence
$230 per participant for jetski licence only (MUST already have a current QLD Boat Licence)
TIME: 7.30am – 4.00pm
TRAINER: Rusty’s Training & Assessment
PREREQUISITE: You must be 16 years of age to acquire a boat licence, but you are able to attend and complete the boat licence course training at 15½ years of age. Once you turn 16 years, you can take your certificate to Queensland transport to get your boating licence.
Please bring your own lunch as breaks are relatively short. A shop is located close by.
Tea and coffee will be available and biscuits will be provided for morning and afternoon tea.
